Let's Cure Lucas is proud to present Studio After Dark—an unforgettable evening where creativity, community, and compassion come together in support of groundbreaking rare disease research.
Hosted at My Design Studio, Studio After Dark is an immersive fundraising experience featuring handcrafted cocktails, exceptional culinary experiences by talented local chefs, live entertainment, interactive food stations, casino games, photography, flash tattoos, live and silent auctions, and inspiring artistic experiences. Every element of the evening has been thoughtfully curated to celebrate creativity while raising critical funds for life-changing research.
A highlight of the evening will be our Community Art Installation, where every guest will contribute to the creation of a one-of-a-kind collaborative masterpiece. Once completed, the artwork will be auctioned as a lasting symbol of the community's collective support for Lucas and the advancement of rare disease research.
WHY WE FUNRAISE?
Our inspiration is Lucas, a young boy living with an ultra-rare genetic condition caused by mutations in the RBM28 gene. With only two known cases worldwide, there are currently no approved treatments or cure.
Through Let's Cure Lucas, we are funding pioneering research at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and UMass Chan Medical School to develop what could become the world's first gene therapy for RBM28-related disease.
The complete research and therapy development program is expected to cost approximately $2 million CAD—including a $350,000 research program at SickKids and a $1.7 million gene therapy development program at UMass Chan Medical School.
Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, and donation made brings us one step closer to giving Lucas—and future children diagnosed with RBM28-related disease—a chance at treatment.
